Children who have been adopted and/or in foster care also have unique needs. Children with exposure to trauma, pre-and post-natal drug and alcohol exposure, and children adopted from overseas institutional settings often are misdiagnosed by well-meaning professionals who do not understand the complexities of such early influences on development. As a foster and adoptive parent, Dr. Beadle has a unique perspective both professionally and personally, and has specialized training and experience in evaluation and treatment recommendations of children who have adoption and foster care experiences.
